  • How much will I really make?

    Experienced truck driving professionals are making between $60,000 - $82,500. We have tenured company drivers who make over $100,000 a year.

  • How much experience do I need to drive for Ascend?

    To be considered an experienced driver, you will need 6 months of solo driving.  

  • What is the best way to fill out an application?

    You have several options. You can apply directly online, through the application link or call us at 800-231-7303 and a recruiter can email an application. 

  • What are the requirements to be a Ascend driver?

    You must be at least 21 years old and live within the hiring area. Your driving record and hiring criteria must match up with Ascends requirements and will be evaluated when you apply with us.

  • How does the application process work?

    When you submit your application, it will be evaluated, and we will contact you to review your application and begin processing. We will then order your background reports and verify past employment. Once this process is complete we will contact you with final approval; within the same day in most cases!

  • What is your policy on traffic tickets and criminal background?

    At Ascend we have our own system we use to evaluate your Motor Vehicle Report. We also have a policy regarding criminal convictions and evaluate each applicant on a case-by-case basis.

  • What kind of benefits/insurance does Ascend offer?

  • When can I get medical benefits and how much do they cost?

    Ascend offers benefit enrollment for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, all supplemental insurances, and 401(k) the first of the month following hire date. 

  • What is your pet policy?

    Yes! You can bring your dog or cat with you on the road. We do not allow them at orientation.

  • What type of equipment do you have?

    Our trucks are predominately Volo 760’s 

  • Does Ascend offer a lease purchase program?

  • How long is driver orientation?

    Experienced van drivers will complete a one-day orientation. You will be dispatched and start moving freight upon completion.

  • What is your Pay?

    Your pay will be based on your experience level, division, and fleet choice. Our pay plans are called Your Choice because you can choose how you want to be compensated.

  • What are your Bonuses?

    Ascend offers monthly incentives for Safety, Productivity, and Idle. 

  • What can I expect for Home time?

    Home time you can count on! Stable, consistent schedule so you know when you will be home. Our home weekly drivers average 5 days out.

  • What is the passenger policy?

    We recently enhanced our passenger policy! 
As a professional driver, you may want your spouse, child, or someone else like a parent, brother, sister, or friend to ride along in the truck with you. You can do that with Ascend! As an experienced truck driver, you become eligible to take a passenger after 1 day of employment. Riders must be between 12-74 years of age and purchase an insurance policy before riding on the truck.

  • When will I get my first home time?

    You will typically be home within a week of your orientation. You’ll be able to pick up personal items you normally take on the road with you.

  • Can my significant other ride with me?

    Request must be made before 5 P.M. CST the day before the trip, to the Safety Department. No request will be accepted on Saturday or Sunday.

    • All passengers must be at least 12 years old.
    • Only one passenger may be authorized at a time.
    • There are no limitations to the number of times per year the driver may get authorization to transport a passenger.
    • Because of the additional liability exposure, pregnant passengers are strongly discouraged during the entire pregnancy term.
    • At no time shall the driver ever allow a passenger to get behind the controls of the vehicle.
    • Driver is required to have passenger insurance. The cost for the insurance is $15.50 for each calendar month you have a passenger ride with you. The insurance is for the full month. No partials. Insurance Premium is per passenger. Passenger must be named at time of request
  • What speed are your trucks set at?

    Ascend trucks are set at 69 miles per hour.

  • How many miles can I expect?

    All fleets range differently depending on the freight that is available at that time. Our goals range from 2,300 – 2,600 miles per week.

  • Do you offer refresher training?

    No.

  • Does Ascend offer a sign-on bonus?

    No.
