MILAN EXPRESS ANNOUNCES GENERAL RATE INCREASE
Dear Milan Express Customer,
Thank you for the confidence you have placed in Milan Express this past year by allowing us to provide your transportation needs. We very much appreciate the opportunity to service you and trust that we have met your expectations by providing quality service for both you and your customers.
Due to the increasing costs we are all faced with at this time, we will be implementing a restructure of price effective January 28, 2008. In our continuing efforts to provide our shipping partners with a competitive advantage, we are structuring our rate increase to more accurately reflect the cost we have incurred in the various markets we service.
For those customers utilizing the current Milan Express rate base, we have found it necessary to only take an overall 5.50% increase in order to maintain the high quality of dependable, reliable service you can trust.
All associates at Milan Express will continue to strive to exceed your standards for excellence and remain committed to fulfilling your needs.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to handle your business.

Every decision is centered on our commitment to best-in-class service. We work to provide customers with top-quality service, by improving transit times, maintaining on-time service, ongoing employee training, and enhancing overall service. In 2005, we invested in excess of $15 million on capital expenditures, including new service facilities, equipment and staff. Effective April 3, 2006 we are implementing a general rate increase. The LTL impact will be a 3.25 percent increase. Minimum charges will also be increased by $2. To remain competitive in the industry, Milan will also implement an increase with a select group of the accessorial charges. These adjustments are necessary to ensure that we sustain competitive levels in the industry. For more information please review Milan’s updated rules tariff. As you are aware, 2005 was once again a challenging year for the trucking industry as companies experienced numerous challenges with unexpected expenses. In addition to wage pressures, we are faced with providing resources for: - Increased security measures
- Investment in expanded terminal capacity to meet customer demand
- Growing insurance premiums
- Rising driver recruitment and employee training cost
- Escalating health care costs
- Regulatory issues dealing with transporting hazardous materials
- Higher cost of raw materials causing an increase in equipment costs
