INDEPENDENT RESEARCH STUDY RATES MILAN EXPRESS AS A TOP 10 CARRIER
Milan, TN, March 31, 2009 -- Milan Express Co., Inc. announced today that a recent independent research study conducted by Mastio & Company has found that transportation service buyers give Milan Express quality ratings that exceed industry benchmarks. The 2008 Mastio & Company LTL Customer Value & Loyalty Benchmarking Report is the fourth edition of an in-depth survey that identifies and quantifies the perceptions and needs of LTL freight customers. The 2008 study findings are based on interviews with 1,991 customers providing approximately 8,100 total observations.
The study identifies how customers choose which carrier to use and answers these types of questions:
- What factors are the most important drivers of customers’ carrier selection decisions and their perceptions of overall value and loyalty?
- How do customers perceive the overall value of your products and services relative to key competitors?
- How competitive is your position in the marketplace?
- Which carriers are the most vulnerable and which are strongest in their ability to gain and retain customers?
- What are the areas for improvement that will have the most impact on your ability to win and retain more business?
- What factors should be emphasized in marketing communications?
Hundreds of less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers and freight forwarders were rated in the study, of which 41 had sufficient ratings to be included in the report. MILAN EXPRESS DISTRIBUTION SERVICES RECEIVES PROCTER AND GAMBLE "PINNACLE AWARD" FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE
Milan, TN, September 2007 -- Milan Express’s Jackson TN Distribution Center recently received the “Pinnacle Award” for Quality from Procter and Gamble. This award requires achievement of 100% Quality Assurance Capability as measured by P&G. This is the second time Milan Express Distribution Services has reached this major milestone in quality compliance. The Milan TN Distribution Center also received the award in 2002. Corporate Quality leaders from P&G’s Cincinnati headquarters presented the award in person, and stated that Milan Express is one of a select group of vendors to achieve this award.

MILAN EXPRESS WINS ATA/HOMELAND SECURITY'S HIGHWAY WATCH PROGRAM "TRAINER OF THE YEAR" AWARD
Milan, TN, October 31, 2006 -- John Ross, President of Milan Express, announced the Milan, Tennessee based company has won the ATA/Homeland Security “Trainer Of The Year” Award. Milan was among the earliest of the nation’s freight carriers to have achieved 100% compliance with Homeland Security’s Highway Watch Program, a program that trains drivers to protect themselves, their company and their country from acts of terrorism. The Trainer Of The Year Award was presented to T. Patrick Landreth, Milan’s Director of Loss Prevention, at the recent Annual Convention of the Tennessee Trucking Association held in Destin, Florida. Milan was recognized for their aggressive approach to join this program.
Highway Watch is the roadway sector’s national safety and security program that is utilizing the skills and road-smart experience of America’s transportation workers to assist with the protection of the nation’s infrastructure and the transportation of goods, services and people. The Highway Watch Program is administered by ATA (American Trucking Association) via an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security. Highway Watch provides instruction for hundreds of thousands of highway transportation professionals including of course the nation’s truck drivers.
Milan was among the first to train 100% of its driving force. In a matter of 90 days, Milan’s Safety & Loss Prevention Department acquired training credentials and materials and then trained over 1,200 drivers.

MILAN EXPRESS WINS SAFTEY AWARDS
Milan, TN, September 2004 -- At the annual Tennessee Trucking Association convention, Milan Express was presented with two Fleet Safety Awards for 2004 at the chairman's banquet. Receiving the award for First Place in the less than truckload division for seven million miles to fifteen million miles was Charlie Rich, Nashville, TN linehaul driver and former member of theTennessee Road Team.
Milan Express also received Second Place in the truckload division for seven million miles and over.

$300,000.00 TO THIRTY OVER THE ROAD DRIVERS!
Milan, TN, June 2004 -- Five years ago Tommy Ross Chairman of the Board of Milan Express had a great idea! Friday June 18, 2004 this dream became a reality for some of our local professional drivers! Thirty Milan Express drivers, 23 company and 7 owner operators in the truckload over the road divisions received $300,000.00 or $10,000.00 per driver.
The $10,000.00 bonus requirements were to stay in the over the road truckload van and flatbed operations for 5 years of service and achieve a minimum of 575,000.00 miles. “Several other drivers will be receiving their bonus from this point forward but this was the first pay out,” said Mike Stone Vice President of Truckload Services. “The drivers who stayed with the company were rewarded for their loyalty! The money is in their bank accounts” said Stone.
