Admission Procedures and Requirements:

Persons desiring to attend MEDA are required to complete an application for admission. Applicants may apply for admission to MEDA at any time. Applicants are placed on a call list according to the date of submission of school application. All applicants who meet entrance requirements and are able to profit from instruction and training may apply for class. The application must be submitted to MEDA personnel by fax, email, or in person. Each applicant is required to meet with a MEDA representative before enrollment can be concluded to ensure a through understanding of the course and its objectives.

Prospective Truck driving students desiring to attend MEDA must:

• Be 21 years or older
• Pass the required DOT physical examination with the MEDA physician
• Pass a drug test administered by a qualified technician as designated by MEDA
• Not be convicted of a felony within the last ten years
• Possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
• Provide a Moving Violation Record, with no more than three moving violations within three years and no DUI/DWI in the last ten years
• Be able to read and write English
• Be able to operate a manual transmission
• Out of State drivers' may apply to MEDA by converting their out of state license to a Tennessee Operators License prior to starting class.
